bland
I take life and define it by the things I need to do.Life's bland. All we have is our work, our prayers, our time spent with other people and sometimes with God. What makes the time we spend worthwhile? What makes the people we spend time with worthwhile?
I wrote a long paragraph and then recalled an extremely important statement from the Westminster Catechism (with Y's help):
ReplyDeleteThe chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
If in other people we see aspects of Him, and recognize that He is glorified in our interactions with them (whether through our joy or our struggles)... we begin to experience what it means to bring the glory of God "home" to our lives.
The two-pronged chief end of man is perhaps what bestows richness on bland lives -- because He is over and in every part of our work, our prayers, our time spent with other people and with Him. There is no detail that is unimportant to Him.
